Pre School Clean Up

September 27th, 2008 by melissa

I was up and out the door early. Every month the pre school does a huge clean up and you have to volunteer for one Sat for the year. I decided to get it over with, so it was my turn today. Luckily it only took 2 hours rather than the expected 4 hours. When I called Bret was taking the kids on their bikes to Castle Park. We all got to Castle Park at the same time. The kids had fun playing but it was hot. Then we drove daddy car home since I brought it to the park. The kids loved sitting in the back seats with no car seats. We came home and the kiddos played a bit. We decided to go to In N Out Burger for lunch then Toys R Us. We are trying to get ideas for Christmas and birthdays. They loved the idea of getting big kid bikes. Bret and I were pretty sluggy and tired today. Bret tried to take a nap and got a few minutes before he was called from work. After TV the kiddos played outside in the backyard. Justin filled up the pool and that held their interest for a few minutes. We decided to go for a bike ride. So the kids got in the trailer and off we went. We just biked to Kohl’s as we needed a few things. The kiddos had fun making a mess in Kohl’s and playing. It was a pretty mellow evening; dinner and showers. I was telling the kids a story about babies (Nicole loves babies) and I mentioned the babies pooped and the kids were in hysterics. It was so funny. Of course all this happened when they were supposed to be going to sleep. We just enjoyed the laughter.

San Diego Zoo

September 26th, 2008 by melissa

We headed down to the zoo with our friends Maggie and Aliya. We all had a great time. Justin and Nicole had fun looking at all the animals. It was great to show them animals they have only read about, zebras, giraffes, elephants, pandas, koala bears (they were sleeping, however), hyenna, bear, etc. Justin and Nicole were really good listening to me and staying close by, I was a proud mom. Justin loved the skyway ride, I think that was his favorite part of the day. Justin did amazing keeping his underwear dry. I was a stress case and debated about putting diapers on him, but he did it! I was so happy and proud that the kids got a special treat, chocolate ice cream. I am so exhausted, but here are some pics from our day:

My Babies Aren’t Babies Anymore

September 25th, 2008 by melissa

Today was the first time I was leaving the kiddos at pre school. I have such mixed feelings about it. I can’t believe they are old enough to go to pre school. This is a picture of the kiddos riding in the car on the way to their first day of pre school.

The next picture is me watching my babies walking into pre school. Don’t they look so cute carrying their buckets?

The last picture was taken as I was saying goodbye to the kiddos. They gave each other a hug. I kept that image in my head the entire time while I was by myself. I am sure the kiddos were thinking leave already mom.

Justin went to pre school in underwear. YEAH! I was doing ok leaving them until I saw the empty car seats in my car. While they were in pre school I went and got a pedicure then went to get the kiddos balloons. justin did really well in underwear-he went in the bathroom and no one came in fast enough to help him so he did pee (but he tried-he knew where to go he just couldn’t pull down his own pants). I was so proud of them for being so brave and so good at school, I got Justin the biggest car balloon I could find and I got Nicole the biggest Hello Kitty. It was so exciting picking up the kids. They told me about their day, painted, rode bikes, what they ate for snack, etc. We got to the car and the kids loved the balloons, biggest smiles on their faces. We decided to meet daddy for lunch. Justin did so well in underwear telling us when he had to go during lunch. By the time we got back to the car, Justin’s balloon popped. So we went back to the party store and got him another one. We came home and the kiddos watched TV for a bit. I decided to give the kiddos a shower as I had to go to a preschool meeting this evening. The kiddos wanted to take a shower, they love squirting with the shower head. Justin could have stayed in the shower all day-he just loved it. Nicole decided when she was done and was so proud of herself turning off the water. Then we headed to Blue Gum, the kiddos in the bike trailer. They had so much fun at the park. We made sand cakes and castles and the kiddos climbed and went down the slides. They enjoyed climbing up the big slide. We came home and had dinner. Then I was off to a pre school meeting.

Morning With Friends

September 24th, 2008 by melissa

This morning we got ready for our friends to come over., Candice, Vena, Stacie, and Victoria. The kiddos all played so well together, it was great. We made cookie shapes and cupcakes. The kids had a blast decorating them. It was so cute watching them all have fun. I kept Justin in underwear the entire time and he did so well. I am so proud of him. The kids all played all over the house and they all ate lunch together. Justin and Nicole liked showing their friends their beds. It was cute. After everyone left the kiddos and I built with megablocks. They made big towers then we watched some TV. After TV the kiddos and I just played. We played inside and out. Justiin did his squirty tool, Nicole played in her play house. Then the kiddos were banned inside as they didn’t listen with the bubbles. Inside we built with the wood blocks. I was getting bored at home, so we went to Paula’s for swimming. Nicole loves the pool, she had a blast. Both kids loved playing with the noodles. Nicole kept on jumping in the pool. I was so proud of Justin as he remembered to go pee pee in the potty even at the pool. Cross our fingers I think we are almost done with potty training Justin. After swimming we came home and got daddy and we all went to Red Robin for dinner. The kids were a bit hyper though. They loved eating corn dogs on a stick. Even at dinner, Justin wore underwear and remembered to go to the potty-yeah! We came home and the kids were still hyper but yet we tried to get them to go to sleep. Nicole wasn’t done talking though so daddy went up there for a while. And I went for a walk.

Another Day of Pre School (sort of)

September 23rd, 2008 by melissa

We got ready this morning and off to pre school. I worked there again today. I was in charge of the green table. Paint everywhere, what a mess! Justin and Nicole came to my table right away then they headed outside. They did really well being independent. Justin didn’t need me at all but Nicole when she saw me wanted me. They shared today at pre school. Justin brought his car (the one that is the same color as daddy’s) and Nicole brought her baby. They enjoyed sharing, it was really cute. I saw the kiddos riding trikes in the yard-I kept looking to see what they were up to when I could. They sat really well and participated at story time. It was a lot of work but fun. After we went to Costco. I needed a bunch of things. We ate lunch there and shopped. The kids were really hyper and it was a bit hard as it was pretty crowded. We came home and had some much needed down time. After I took the kiddos to 24 hour fitness so I could work out. Thank goodness they love their play area, they are always so good there. We stopped at the grocery store on the way home to get cookie stuff for a play date tomorrow. After dinner Justin enjoyed playing with the sprinklers.

The kiddos wanted to take showers tonight. Nicole sprayed me and the bathroom. They had so much paint on them from pre school. They went right to bed tonight. We heard Nicole saying Justin is waking me up. Bret went up there and Justin was as quiet as can be and Nicole said Justin talk-silly.

September 22nd, 2008 by melissa

This morning Justin did so well again using the potty! But then we had to go to Playball class. I don’t think he is ready to go out in underwear yet-he is just too busy playing to be bothered with the potty. The kids had so much fun at playball class. They spun a hula hoop and the kids had to grab it and stop it, run then catch the ball, etc. The only thing my kids were sitting a lot waiting for the other kids. So I decided to bump them up to the 3-4 yr old class, so hopefully they will get to do more drills. Plus there are less people in this class too. After we went to story time at Hush Baby. It wasn’t crowded at all which made it nice and a couple of our friends met us there too. Nicole got a pink dog painted on her hand and Justin a duck. They have so much fun at this story time. Justin went up and participated with the story lady where Nicole was a little more shy. After we went to In N Out Burger for lunch. The kids ate a lot, they were hungry. After we took our time getting back to the car and saw so many things. We came home and the kiddos watched some TV. After the kiddos got in the bike trailer and to the park we went. We had so much fun at the park. The kids imagination is amazing, it was so fun to watch them play. Climbing, sliding, pretending to drive trains, eat breakfast, sliding down together, and me sliding with them. I biked home and they saw daddy coming home from work. So I biked as fast as I can. The kiddos played in the backyard while I made dinner and daddy planted the palm tree. After dinner we went outside to paint their pre school buckets again. The paint that I had them use before did not stick to plastic. No biggie as they had fun painting them again with the right paint and stickers. Justin put all ball stickers on his and Nicole used butterflies and flowers plus some balls. It was fun. Justin was in underwear all night and did so well even outside. We are getting closer to being potty trained. When we came in, Justin took the beads (balls) and started to bowl with them, so funny. We went upstairs and the kids were out so fast, this 8:00 bedtime seems to be really working.

This morning we got up and saw my “big sister” from the multiples club. We played in her front yard for a bit. Nicole and Justin loved the two wheeler bike with training wheels. They did so great on the bike, it was so cute. After we headed to Grammy’s. We all played for a bit at her house then went to brunch. The kids loved all the different food. After we went back to Grammy’s and played a bit. Justin filled up her fountain with the hose. Nicole read some books and played in the play room. Justin got a new truck and Nicole got a new doll. Both kids liked their new toys. The kiddos rode their trikes a bit. We came home and I was feeling so sluggy and tired. So we dusted off the bike trailer and took the kids for a ride. It was so fun. Of course, we always say why don’t we do this more often. We came home and watched some TV. Then daddy tried to fix Justin’s bed-still working on the top. It is looking way better now. The kids played upstairs while daddy worked. I decided that was a good time to give them a shower. Thought it would be fun for a change to take a shower. Justin loved spraying the shower head. Then we put Justin in underwear. He did so well. No accidents, ran to the potty. After we went into the garage to try and tackle the mess. We cleared it up enough to get the two cars back in the garage. But it still needs a lot more work. After dinner, dad went to work on the sprinklers in the backyard. The kids played out there for a bit. They were playing in their play house for a while. They rode their bikes, made baskets. Very mellow night. Kiddos seemed a bit crazy but then went to sleep. Nicole is sleeping with her new doll, Amy.

Disneyland

September 20th, 2008 by melissa

We finally made it to Disney, thanks to Bret’s company. There was a moment at Disney that I thought I can’t believe we are here with our kids. 4 years or so with our battle of trying to get pregnant, I never thought Disney would be a reality with kids! I actually got a bit teary eyed. We had a great time at Disney. We got annual passes so I can go almost every day-ha. It was really crowded today though, so we didn’t get on many rides. We went on the train, rode the carousal, Dumbo (stood in line for about 45 min), and the Autopia. Justin was so excited to drive the car. I drove with Nicole and she is definitely a crazy driver. Unfortunately it was too crowded to go on many more rides. But we saw the band and the characters dancing around, Mickey, Pinnochio, Goofy, Pluto, etc. The kids liked the music and were afraid of all the characters. Nikki really wanted to see Minnie Mouse and we saw her finally on a float in a parade. We did a lot of walking. We went over to toon town to see Mickey and Minnie’s house. That was really cute. The kids took a little nap in the stroller, thank goodness as Nicole was melting down a bit. Finally we decided Disney was just too crowded and ventured over to CA Adventures. On our way we stopped at the Disney fire station. The kids loved climbing all over the truck. We got to CA Adventures just in time for the parade. The kids loved it, well Nicole didn’t like the water squirting at us. Justin loved the water, he kept on saying he got wet with a big smile even when the water didn’t get him. We went on the carousal again and the ferris wheel. The lines were still pretty miserable at CA Adventure. We grabbed some dinner and headed home. The kiddos went to bed a little late tonight so hopefully they will sleep in.

Lincoln Logs

September 19th, 2008 by melissa

Justin can’t get enough of Lincoln logs. We built like 10 houses today. He had fun knocking them down too. Nicole gets so jealous when I try and give justin 100% of my attention. I feel so bad as Justin never requires my attention so it is fun to just build with him. He really likes that. We checked out the story time at the library by Heritage Park. It was cute. The kids did great listening and participating in the story time-it was cute. After we went and read books in the library. The kids had fun picking out the books and having me read them. We came home and just played. The kiddos wanted to play outside for a while. They did fight over everything today-ugh. We did dress up for a while. Nicole got all dressed up and insisted I wear all her bracelets, my hands are too big. Justin was wearing bracelets as well. We did the string a ball toy thing. Nicole was still having trouble and Justin did it. He was so proud of himself, stringing beads. It was cute. Then they pulled them all around the house. Through the kitchen, dining room, hallway, family room, over and over again. They watched some TV. After TV the kids wanted to wash cars. So outside we went. They were so good washing mommy car. Of course Justin had to do the hose. They both got their rags and helped as they liked the bubbles. They didn’t get the drying concept. Then they wanted to do daddy car as daddy biked to work. Of course they lost interest when I started daddy’s car, oh well. So they played, Nicole was pushing the umbrella stroller and jumping on the hoppity ball thing. Justin just wanted to water anything he could with the hose. After we planted some flower seeds in the pots the kids decorated. They loved it. We had a lot of fun. Then we did lots of bubbles. After dinner, the kids put beads on the strings. They walked around pulling them saying they are snakes and caterpillars. I love their imagination. We played outside and made baskets. The kids are getting pretty good at dribbling and making baskets, in fact I raised the basket tonight. We went upstairs and did the night time routine and the kids are fast asleep.

First Day of Pre School (sort of)

September 18th, 2008 by melissa

This morning we got out of the house by 8:15 to get to pre school. It was the kiddos first day, but it was a work day for me, so they weren’t alone. It was a fun day at school. My job was the blue table and outside. I got to take the kids height and weight, so we can see how much they grow by the end of the year. Then I was outside the rest of the time. Nicole and Justin went right for the bikes outside. It was a little scary as they were going fast down the little hill, but soon enough they got the hang of it. The kiddos loved their red buckets to put all their stuff in. They found their little cubbies to put all their stuff in too. Justin was ok without me, but Nicole wanted me to go wherever she went. Justin was into playing trains and making tracks. All of a sudden I look up and Nicole is all in dress up, shoes, hat, dress, so cute. She was into pushing the baby in the little stroller. Since I was working this day, Nicole and Justin had to bring something to share. I forgot but luckily I had their skateboard dog/kitty in the car. They sat on the teachers lap and talked about their toys. Nicole said her kitty’s name was mommy and Justin said his dog’s name was daddy. They both proudly showed how they pull their animals, it was cute. Justin came home with an envelope with a paper that he cut. I had no idea what they were doing inside. Hopefully the kids will remember to put their art work in their buckets to bring home, so I can display them. Both kids ate so much snack-they were starving. They both painted and got back on the bikes when we went outside. We came home and they both wanted lunch. Nicole ate a lot but not Justin. The kiddos decided the shower down stairs was a pirate ship and all the toys went in there. What a mess, so cute though.

I tried to get them to nap. Read a bunch of books in my bed, then tried to lay down with them…it just didn’t work, hopefully Nicole won’t be too cranky later. I gave up and let them watch Barney. Then we went to the grocery store, the kids had so much fun with the carts. Nicole is really into wanting to help me lately and with everything. I promised the kids when we got home we could paint their red buckets from pre school. So on the greenbelt we went and the kids loved it.

The kiddos are going to have the most decorated buckets at pre school. It was fun watching them paint, but what a mess! After we came in and made dinner. Daddy and the kids were using their squirty toys. Nicole wanted to help so I tried to think of ways she could help with dinner. They were such a mess from painting and spaghetti that after dinner we just gave them a bath. They played for a bit, read stories, and off to bed.
